When I created a system to keep you from getting sidetracked in home keeping, it had to be simple.
It also had to be FUN!
Many systems suggest ‘decluttering 15 minutes’ at a time. Have you ever set your timer and then FROZE wondering how to go about it? I KNOW I HAVE!!!
So much of our attitude sits between our 2 ears. We have to get creative in order for us to make this
1. Simple 2. Effective 3. Doable.
One of the ways I have learned to distract myself enough to get this part of home keeping done is to simply start counting each item as I move it to one of the 3 Cha Cha Cha’s. It doesn’t matter how big or how small they are. Just start counting. I chose the number of items to be 25 simply because that is the day of the month I was born. Nothing more.
Why Do I Call It ‘Do The 25 Scoop And Cha Cha Cha?’
What happens when the phone rings and a friend says, “I will be over to visit you in about 15 minutes”?
Panic Sets In!
If we have been practicing 9 Habits That Keep You From Getting Sidetracked In Home Keeping it won’t be so bad. If not, will you be lucky enough to have an ’empty basket or tote’ to go around your home and begin to SCOOP things up???
You see decluttering and daily routines are
2 separate things.
Most days you will be lucky to get your routine done. I suggest you try 9 Life Changing Daily Habits. Yes, in this routine you will see Habit 5 – Declutter 15 Minutes. That actually is your usual decluttering you do each day that can also be called Pick Up And Put Away. If you want to do decluttering above and beyond the 15 minutes then block out time each day to do it.
Consider your decluttering as a part time job.
And the best way and easiest way to do it is doing the
25 Scoop And Cha Cha Cha!
Give this try and let me know how this works for you! I would love to hear!
