Don’t Believe It? Fake It Until You Make It

So much of what I have learned in the past 15 years I have used this phrase. And you know what? It works!

Too many times you will find that you make it a priority to be kind to others but aren’t kind to yourself. Make yourself a priority just like you make other people a priority. Be just as kind to yourself as you are to your loved ones and friends. Loving yourself will make your relationships with others become better.

Loving Affirmations to Tell Yourself Every Day

Life can get busy and overwhelming. This makes it hard to take time to love yourself. These times are when it is most important to love yourself. The following loving affirmations will help you keep a positive mindset and help you work through the things that disrupt your peace.

You might not realize it, but speaking words aloud can change your thinking. Since how you think can directly impact how you react to the things that take place in your life. Positive loving affirmations can change your reactions and perspectives. Your entire life will change once you begin repeating these loving affirmations and framing them in a positive way.

Take a look at this list of nine positive affirmations that can positively impact your mindset and try to say them out loud regularly.

1. “I am proud of myself because I am doing my best.”

Be proud of the progress you make, no matter how small it might seem. This is what Marilyn’s Way is all about. Forward is forward. Everyone progresses at different paces, so remember that as long as you are doing your best, you are doing fine. Use this affirmation so that you can be proud of what you have done so far in life.

This loving affirmation will also help you avoid comparing yourself to others. Situations are as different as people. You can’t compare your progress to someone else’s because everyone is different. Be proud of what you have done, and don’t worry about anything else.

2. “My life is filled with purpose.”

Taking care of yourself and your home In the day-in, day-out tasks of daily living, it can be easy to lose sight of your life’s purpose. Seek out opportunities every day that help you fulfill your sense of purpose. Some days, this will be a small opportunity. For example, you might make a phone call to something that interests you and would like to learn more about. Other times, it can be a larger investment (and return). For example, you might focus on something that’s been on your “bucket list” for a long time. Reminding yourself with positive affirmations every day that your life is filled with purpose will help you notice and reach for these opportunities.

1. “I have the power to create the life I desire.”

Many times, people assume that they are victims of circumstance. While it’s true that circumstances can create very difficult situations, taking control of the direction of your life can be very affirming and give you the confidence you need to achieve your goals. Say it out loud and you will begin to believe that you do have the power to create the life you desire.

2. “Today is filled with possibility.”

Any day can be different than the one before. If you feel that you’ve been stuck in a rut and are bored or frustrated by doing the same things day after day, take heart: You can turn things around right now. When you believe and affirm that today is a new day brimming with potential, you will begin to make the changes you need to, one day at a time. Say this every morning to unleash your power to change your life starting today.

3. “I matter, and the things that I do matter.”

You do matter, so you should remind yourself of it every day. Too many times many of us including myself unconsciously beat ourselves down. Keeping this affirmation in your mind all day will help you feel more confident and sure of yourself.

4. “I am strong enough to overcome challenges.”

Are you in the middle of a challenging situation? I am currently housing my mom’s things while she lives in a nursing home. It has been a challenging obstacle in my life. It has created  anxiety or depression for myself because prior I had been living in my home clutter free for over 4 years. Now I have Mom’s things that are also her aunt and uncles things such as photos and such. I know it is important to keep these but there are clothes she will never wear again and are taking up space in my tiny 900 square foot home with no closet space. This has been making everyday tasks like the 9 Daily Habits difficult.

I finally had to sit down and write about it in order to find solutions.  Tell yourself that you are strong enough to overcome these challenges as I am! It has helped me to think about difficult situations that I’ve already come through. Consider the last decade of your life and think about all of the hard times you’ve had. (For me my home was filled with so much clutter there was nothing but pathways in my home) You’re still standing, right? You will get through this challenge, too.

5. “I do my best to accomplish my goals.”

Sometimes it can seem difficult to put forth your best efforts. Reminding yourself that you have goals and that you are doing whatever you can to achieve them can be very helpful. Affirming that you are trying to accomplish your goals and that you take steps every day to move a little closer to achieving them can make a world of difference in both the way you feel and the way you change your life as you celebrate your accomplishments.

6. “The things I did in the past do not reflect the person I am today.”

Everyone makes mistakes or does things they wish they hadn’t. I know I have. You can’t keep beating yourself up for those things, though. At some point, you must learn to love yourself enough to recognize that those things don’t define you.

As you go through life, you learn and grow into a better person. Since you are getting better all of the time, the things you did in the past should only serve as a reminder of how far you have come.

7. “I am a positive person and attract positivity.”

This loving affirmation can help you start your day feeling positive. Positivity will radiate from you as you begin your day, and you will attract even more positivity everywhere you go. This happiness can spread to others, further improving your day.

Loving yourself and using loving affirmations each morning can do much more than you might initially believe. This positive phrase will not only help you feel better, but it will positively impact those around you, too. It leads to better relationships and improved work environments.
